Zithromax.

Zithromax (azithromycin) can be prescribed by your health care provider if you have a bacterial (rather than viral) infection and need to be taking some medicine to keep the symptoms under control. This macrolide antibiotic is often prescribed to treat STDs and a number of other conditions. Tell your doctor if you have a history of Long QT syndrome, liver disease, kidney disease, myasthenia gravis, or heart rhythm disorder, as those factors may affect the dose you will be prescribed. Some drugs you are taking at the moment have also been reported to interact with calcium channel blockers, theophylline, digoxin, warfarin, pimozide, cholesterol-lowering medicines, ergot medicines, triazolam, HIV medicines, cyclosporine, phenytoin, another antibiotic, or carbamazepine. You will need to take Zithromax for as long as recommended, as otherwise your infection may not be treated completely. Make sure you tell your health care provider if you have any symptoms of an allergic reaction – such as hives trouble breathing, swelling and rash. In most cases, however, you can get a few mild side effects that you won't need to report as they are not likely to persist. The following side effects sometimes occur: diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, ringing in your ears, stomach pain, mild nausea, vomiting, insomnia, headache, mild itching or skin rash.
